NSCDC Nabs 27 Suspects In Zamfara (See Why)
Zamfara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sani Mustapha has paraded 27 suspects with various offences ranging from Gang of Thieves and involvement in the illicit trade of fertilizer inputs in the state.
Parading the suspects at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters in Gusau, on Saturday, Commandant Sani Mustapha said 22 male suspects with dangerous hairdos who belong to some criminal gangs that specialises in phone snatching and other criminal activities were arrested.
According to him, the suspects were arrested by the NSCDC during a routine patrol in Gusau metro particularly Tudun Wada Area and other dangerous areas earmarked as black spots in Gusau.
He said that the suspects were arrested with dangerous weapons such as knives and cables meant for strangling their victims.
“Three girls within the age bracket of 20yrs were arrested at about 23:30 hours for late night with substances suspected to be intoxicants along Top Town Hotels bye pass Gusau”.
Commandant Sani Mustapha assured the public of the corps’ readiness to prosecute those miscreants.
“one of the suspects was also arrested with military uniform in his possession which he uses for the harassment of his victims”.
He further said that about 108 unauthorized fertilizer inputs meant for industrial blending of fertilizers were impounded from some illicit dealers of the products in Gusau, the state capital.
“Granular Ammonium Sulphate and Muriate of Potash were among the prohibited fertilizer inputs to be sold to the general public unless for industrial blending”.
He therefore said that all the culprits in this illicit trade will be charged to Court for prosecution.
He however warned miscreants and hoodlums to stay away from the state as the Corps in collaboration with other sister agencies is poised to purge the State of all manner of criminal activities.
He further advised the general public to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement to relevant authorities.
