Famous Nigerian Pastor Under Attack After ‘Pro-Tinubu Tweet’, Blocks Critic
By GWG Politics Editor
Famous Nigerian pastor, Poju Oyemade was at the weekend under attack on social media after what many saw as a political tweet supposedly couched to give accommodation to the emergence of President Bola Tinubu.
In the tweet Oyemade, who is pastor of The Covenant Nation, TCN, had called on Nigerians to put patriotism above personal considerations irrespective of who is playing. According to the tweet, Nigerians should prioritise the collective goal of winning the match irrespective of who is playing.
He tweeted thus:
His tweet was followed by a barrage of attack with many notably from the Obidient range, including some members of his church with many hurling Biblical verses on social justice as enunciated by Jesus, The Christ to counter Oyemade.
While Pastor Oyemade at one time sought to explain that his tweet did not mean that people should not criticize, he, however, got to the point of blocking a twitter user who identified as a Christian worker who in a thread attacked his claims using biblical and social narratives.
GWG.ng gathered some of the developments.

This is shameful coming from a god of man. The election period has really opened and exposed a lot of people sha. It is really sad! Deep down inside of you, you know the truth but you just want to be seen as a part of those in support so they can’t come after you. God will display the exact miracle most of you preach about to you very soon.

Pastor way don backslide, shut up! 2Peter 2:21 says It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.

You can’t keep putting a fresh wine in an old torn sack and except it to hold.
Stop telling Nigerians to settle for mediocrity using cloak of God.
God is a perfect being who doesn’t see a spade and call it a shovel.

You guys are great embarrassment to the Christian community.
Start changing your churches to social clubs or an arm of APC.
There is nothing righteous in you guys. 2023 elections have exposed you all.

They always bring this man most esp to talk like this whenever they know they wanna do something sinister
But not today Dear god of man tell your sponsors that Nigerians are not having it again. Not today not ever..
I have noticed it’s like a pattern for them.
