Rather than planning for a rerun, the All Progressives Congress, APC is preparing for a second term for President Bola Tinubu, the party’s embattled national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu has revealed..

Adamu who has been in the media light over his alleged differences with Tinubu over the emergence of principal officers of the National Assembly among others disclosed his plans for a second term for Tinubu in an interview late on Tuesday.

Speaking on Arise News Prime Time programme, Adamu while not commenting on the assertion by his Labour Party colleague, Julius Abure that the APC was preparing for a rerun, rather said that the party was looking towards bequeathing a second term on Tinubu.

He said:

“By the grace of God we will continue to work stronger and stronger. We will by the grace of God start planning that God will take us to the end of this tenure and hope that we can get another mandate for another second term for President Ahmed Bola Tinubu all things being equal.”

Speaking on his moves to bring peace to the party, he said:

“We do know that we do make mistakes, we do know that we are not perfect and to that extent we will correct ourselves where we go wrong and find a way of reconciling ourselves where there are genuine differences between us. And as a human outfit like human life is dynamic, things happen and anything that happens, there are those who will like it and there are those who will not like it.

“But where the problems are fabricated for diverting attention it doesn’t bother me, I have been through this for a while and my skin has grown thick enough to take it.

“The APC is here, we will not talk the way the PDP was talking but we want to assure you that we will take every possible step to correct ourselves where we are wrong and then do perfect our strateiges and plans to unify the party and whether I am there or not as chairman that the party, without Abdullahi Adamu there will still be APC but while it is under my watch, I will do everything I can to bring everybody together.”

Besides the issue of a rerun and the revelation of a second term for Tinubu, Adamu when asked on claims that the APC was set to bring members of the G5 in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP into its fold, said:

“Every good politician wants to add to his family and I am no exception and the APC are not an exception,” adding that the G5 will be welcome.
