Twitter followers of Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State have reacted with hilarity after he posted a picture of himself playing table tennis at the state office of the Department of State Services, DSS in which he asked a reply on who won the game.

The question from the governor was also an opportunity for followers to also gently remind the hospitality entrepreneur turned politician to engage with the governor.

GWG.ng reports that while many respondents responded with charm and cheers to the governor who they claimed was putting forward his philosophy of making everyone happy with his practical example, there were, however, some exceptions who took chagrin at the governor’s conviviality and grace.

To the question as to who won the game, the preponderant opinion of respondents was that the governor won the game, though one twitter user, either with mischief in mind or using common sense said that the unidentified opponent of the governor out of respect allowed the governor to win!

GWG.ng reports that one of the respondents, in his response hailed the governor as a free mind governor saying:

Another twitter user poked that Governor won the game of tennis because the opponent allowed him win out of courtesy. Another user added that though the govenor won, but that he would easily beat Eno in a game of table tennis.

There were also some who used the governor’s question to gently remind him of his Happy Hour promise:

GWG.ng reports that Governor Eno’s tennis game at the DSS office in Uyo came as he rationalized his decision to appoint all the cabinet members of his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel into his cabinet. He said:

“By my training and upbringing, people don’t go to a war with you and win the war and you push them aside. It is not a good thing to do because you will need them again for another battle and people won’t trust you.

“So these guys went to war with me, they were with me in the trenches and we won. How do I reward them, throw them away?”

That injunction is bound to ring in the hearts of many ordinary citizens in Akwa Ibom who helped the governor win his election as they await their own portions of the merriment and goodness he has promised to the citizenry in the form of good governance laced with happy hours.
