The Women Economic and Security Protection Group has commended the new President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs Oghogho Musa, for her swift and impactful actions since assuming office.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the Group expressed its appreciation for the recent graduation of several youths who underwent vocational training in various skill sets.

These youths were trained in cosmetology, make-up and gele tying, cosmetics production, detergent manufacturing, and hairdressing. The training, which took place in Abuja, was sponsored by DEPOWA.

The Group emphasized the positive impact of this initiative, noting that it would bolster the morale of the troops currently engaged in operations across the country. Moreover, DEPOWA’s thoughtful gesture of providing food items to approximately 60 widows was commended, as it underscores the Association’s commitment to supporting the families of military personnel.

The press release, signed by the Group’s President, Fatima Bello, also praised Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, for his unwavering support to DEPOWA. The group said this further reinforces the cordial relationship he has cultivated with the troops during his time in the North-East.

The Women said DEPOWA and Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa have sent a powerful message to the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Their actions signify a deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by the troops for the sake of peace and stability in the nation. It also reassures the widows and family members of departed personnel that they will not be left to fend for themselves.

The acquired skills by the graduating members are expected to pave the way for a brighter future, enabling them to create opportunities for themselves and their families.

Women Economic and Security Protection Group said it would continue to support initiatives that empower and uplift communities, just as it remains steadfast in its prayers for the safe return of all troops currently serving on the battlefield, ensuring that their sacrifices will not be in vain.
