Popular actress Eniola Badmus has spoken out about the barrage of insensitive comments and defamatory statements she has encountered on social media.

She revealed that she endured severe “body shaming” when she was plus-size, and even after embarking on her fitness journey, negative remarks continue to be hurled at her due to her political choices.

One such incident involved Tiktoker Okoye Blessing Nwakego, who was sentenced to three years imprisonment by a Federal High Court in Lagos for falsely accusing Badmus of facilitating connections between ladies and top politicians for prostitution.

During a heartfelt address over the weekend, Eniola Badmus reminded the public that celebrities are humans too, deserving of respect and empathy as they are prone to insensitive statements.

She expressed her dismay at the lack of concrete evidence behind the hurtful comments and video defamation she faced, urging people to let others live their lives and refrain from harsh judgments.

Emphasizing the impact such online attacks can have on mental health, Eniola Badmus pointed out that while she possesses the strength to persevere, many others silently struggle with depression and low self-esteem sometimes arising from insensitive statements. She called for more understanding and compassion towards public figures and emphasized that everyone, regardless of their status, deserves to be treated with dignity and kindness.
