Tottenham Hotspur Sign Two Youngsters (See Details)

Tottenham Hotspur have spent over €53 Million to complete the signing of two youngsters earlier today, August 8, 2023.

Alejo Veliz of Argentina’s Under-20 and Micky van de Ven of the Netherlands’ Under-21 teams signed 6-year deal, respectively, with Tottenham Hotspur which will keep them at the club until June 30, 2029.

Spurs paid Wolfsburg 40 million euros for Van de Ven, 22, with the possibility of add-ons raising the price to 50 million euros.

Veliz, 19, joined the London club from Rosario Central, reportedly paying £13 million, subject to obtaining a work permit.

Van de Ven may start for Spurs in their last preseason friendly on Tuesday against Barcelona (19:00 BST).

After signing from Dutch club Volendam to Wolfsburg for £3 million in 2021, he participated in 33 Bundesliga games the previous season. He made six of his 36 appearances in all competitions as a left-sided center-back.

On the other hand, Veliz joined Rosario Central in 2019, and in July of the following year, he made his first appearance for the first team.

For the Argentine Primera Division team, he has played 62 times in all competitions as a forward, scoring 19 goals.

Van de Ven and Alejo Veliz are Tottenham Hotspur’s 4th and 5th signings, respectively, after the arrival of Israeli winger Manor Solomon, Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, and English midfielder James Maddison.

Most of the aforementioned players could make their Premier League debut on Sunday, August 13, when Tottenham Hotspur take on Brentford at Gtech Community Stadium. The kickoff time is 14:00 (2 pm).
