The Delta Media Forum (DMF), a collective of media professionals from Delta State and operating in the nation’s capital has urged the Governor of Delta State, National Assembly members, and the appointed minister representing the state to transcend the adversarial postures often associated with electoral contests.

Emphasizing unity and progress beyond party affiliations, the DMF in a statement issued by its acting secretary, Chris Onokpegu called for concerted efforts to advance the state’s development.

Expressing the good wishes of the media practitioners, the leadership of the  DMF extended its congratulatory wishes to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Mr. Sheriff Oborevwori, on his triumphant emergence in the recent elections and his subsequent validation by the electoral tribunal.

The Forum challenged Governor Oborevwori to rise above the electoral dynamics and collaborate across party boundaries to foster the state’s advancement.

Mr. Benjamin Ubiri, Coordinator of the Delta Media Forum, commented, “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for securing victory at the tribunal. This outcome serves as an affirmation of the mandate granted to him by the citizens of Delta State. Additionally, the tribunal’s validation reaffirms the integrity of the electoral process during the February elections.”

The Forum lauded Governor Oborevwori for his efforts to enhance the well-being of Deltans, particularly through the distribution of palliatives as part of measures to alleviate the challenges caused by the removal of fuel subsidy.

Mr. Ubiri further encouraged Governor Oborevwori to build upon the accomplishments of his predecessor and concentrate on advancing crucial sectors, with a particular focus on the transportation system.

Furthermore, the DMF extended its felicitations to Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, on his appointment as the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace.

Mr. Ubiri stated, “We take this opportunity to congratulate Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, for his well-deserved appointment as the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace. We also commend President Bola Tinubu for recognizing Mr. Keyamo’s commitment and rewarding his dedication.”

Mr. Ubiri reiterated, “We are exceedingly proud of Mr. Keyamo, and we possess unwavering confidence in his ability to excel. His appointment comes as no surprise, given his distinguished intellect and diligent work ethics.”

Mr. Ubiri emphasized, “Despite concerns about the challenges within the aviation and aerospace sector, we maintain an optimistic outlook for Mr. Keyamo. The resilient and pioneering spirit of Deltans ensures that he will overcome obstacles and ascend to success. It is pertinent to recall that Mr. Keyamo’s exceptional performance as Minister of State for Labour led to his retention as the sole minister from the Muhammadu Buhari administration.”

The Delta Media Forum further extended its congratulations to all representatives of Delta State in the National Assembly – including Senators and Members of the House of Representatives. The Forum urged them to legislate judiciously for the benefit of the citizenry.
