She Denied Me Access, Nigerian Man, 63 Explains Killing Of Wife

In a shocking incident in Adamawa state, Aminu Mahdi, a 63-year-old former staff member of the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board, has been apprehended by the police for allegedly causing the death of his 43-year-old wife, Hadiza Zubuchi.

According to reports, the incident occurred on the evening of August 27, 2023, at their residence in Yelwa ward, Mubi North Local Government Area. Mahdi recounted that he returned home around 9:00 pm that night and proceeded to have his meal and change his clothes. However, a dispute arose when his late wife denied him access to her bed.

Aminu Mahdi explained that an argument escalated, during which his late wife allegedly began assaulting him with a stick. In an attempt to defend himself, Mahdi wrestled the stick away from her and unintentionally inflicted injuries on her buttocks and chest, which tragically led to her passing.

Expressing remorse for his actions, Mahdi stated, “I didn’t expect that this kind of incident would happen to me. It was a mistake.”

The spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident. He disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, has instructed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and subsequently prosecute the suspect.
