Delta Governor Gives Ogboru Major Appointment

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has appointed Michael Ogboru, son of one of his major rivals for the governorship, Olorogun Great Ogboru as a special adviser.

Also appointed as special advisers were Goodnews Agbi, the governorship candidate of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Ebikeme Clark, son of South-South leader, Chief Edwin Clark.

Secretary to the State Government, Kingsley Emu, who disclosed these to newsmen in Asaba, Delta capital, said six others were also appointed as Special Advisers.

The governor also appointed Mr. Sylvester Oromoni father of Master Sylvester Oromoni, a student of Dowen College in Lekki Lagos who was allegedly killed by his schoolmates in the school.

Others appointed were Charles Whomrowho Oniyere, Mr. Sylvester Oromoni, Hon. Shedrack Ekene Rapu, Dr. Donald Onyibe Peterson, Hon. Peter Uviejitobor and Chief Nath Azuka Igbadi.

Emu said the date for the swearing-in of the Special Advisers would be announced in due course.

GWG.ng reports that Ogboru had following the governorship election in which he stood as the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA congratulated Oborevwori, becoming the first time since 2003 when he first stood for the election to be governor that he did not go to court.

The decision to appoint his son would have been seen as a goodwill gesture to Ogboruby the Gov Oborevewori administration.
