The Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja will deliver judgment on petitions challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, September 6.

Saharareporters reported the news on its handle on X.

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal merged the petitions submitted by the various political parties while giving the pre-hearing report on the petition and presenting the trial schedule.

It also reserved judgment on the petitions filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party in order to deliver the judgments on the same day as that of Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

Recently, it denied that it had fixed September 16 for the judgment.

GWG.ng reports that the judgment on the election petitions will be delivered before President Bola Tinubu jets out to India for the G20 Summitt holding from September 9 to 10 in New Delhi India.

Mr Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, who disclosed this on Friday in Abuja, said the summit was predicated on the urgent need to attract Foreign Direct Investment into the country.

The Group of Twenty (G20) is the premier forum for international economic cooperation.

The judgment is not expected to weigh seriously on the president whether positive or negative as the tribunal is the court of first instance.
