In the wake of the Nigerian music industry’s grief and controversy following the tragic loss of the ex-Marlian signee Mohbad, up-and-coming singer Yung Duu has broken his silence amidst a series of disturbing wishes for his demise.

The music community has been reeling from the loss of Mohbad, a rising star known for his incredible talent and energy. However, this somber moment has been marred by insensitivity as trolls targeted Portable’s signee, Yung Duu, with shocking and heartless comments, expressing their desire for him to die instead of Mohbad.

On social media, particularly the X platform (formerly Twitter), posts began circulating with messages like, “God bring Mohbad, take Yung Duu,” sparking a wave of outrage and disbelief.

In response to the relentless death wishes, Yung Duu, in a voice recording circulating on social media, expressed his frustration and condemned those behind such hurtful comments. He vehemently cursed those wishing him harm and emphasized his aspirations for fame and a long, prosperous life.

Listen to the Audio below:

“May thunder strike down everyone; stop praying nonsense prayers for me. What kind of prayer is it for God to bring Mohbad and take me? Mohbad reached where he reached, and I will surpass him,” Yung Duu declared passionately.

This saga highlights the dark side of social media and the extent to which some individuals are willing to go to express their opinions, even when it involves insensitivity and harm towards others. Yung Duu, like many rising artistes, remains committed to pursuing his dreams and achieving success in the music industry, despite the negativity that can sometimes accompany fame.
