Temmie Ovwasa Damns Olamide Denies Sexual Assault
Nigerian songstress, Temmie Ovwasa, has stepped forward to set the record straight amid ongoing controversy involving her former boss, Olamide, debunking allegations of assault and providing insight into the core issues.
The former YBNL princess underscored that there were no instances of physical or sexual assault by Olamide and urged against the propagation of false information.
Temmie went into detail about her grievances, primarily focusing on Olamide’s inadequate management of her music career, the lack of organizational structure within the label, her personal encounters with Olamide’s wife, and other related concerns.
She revealed the contents of her final message to Olamide before blocking him, expressing her dissatisfaction with the meager settlement he offered upon the termination of her contract.
Temmie Ovwasa explained that the offered compensation from Olamide was insufficient to cover her living expenses or secure accommodation in Lagos.
In a comprehensive Instagram story, she stated:
“Once again, I want to make it abundantly clear. Olamide did not physically or sexually assault me, he never even looked at me that way!!!! Please refrain from spreading baseless lies! I am discussing my music, the careless manner in which he managed my music career, the absence of a well-structured framework within the label, the fact that they took control of my stage name, and now I can’t change it. The people surrounding him, and my experiences with his wife in his residence! I am saying he could have handled things better!! I am not one to be at anyone’s beck and call!!! Stop sliding into my DMs asking about sexual harassment! That never happened!!!
What happened to your first artiste you signed? What happened to Pelepele? He took his own life? The last message I sent before blocking you was that I would not let this slide even with your compensation, which might work for individuals who do not recognize their self-worth!! You like to play games, and I played along with you.
Compensating me for five wasted years with an amount that cannot cover rent and bills in Lagos. I was already traumatized before I met you; I genuinely believed I was on the verge of finding freedom. You made it even worse. I am crawling my way to the top, and at every step, I will pause to share my story.
I am pure gold, the only thing I fear is a life devoid of fulfillment. If I lose my life at this juncture, I have surpassed the time I believed I would live for so long. You went behind my back to defame me, knowing it would lead to my blacklisting. I am constructing something that transcends your industry; I promise you that.”
