Senior presidency officials and the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC have kept mum on the call by Atiku Abubakar to opposition presidential candidates and other stakeholders to forge an alliance towards confronting what he claimed as the moral dent of President Bola Tinubu in the presidency.

Vanguard reports that presidency officials were inaccessible on the matter on Thursday. The national chairman of the APC, Dr Ganduje similarly rebuffed a question on the issue put to him when he visited Vice President Kashim Shettima.

GWG.ng reports that speaking at a press conference on Thursday that Atiku had said:

I am calling on all well-meaning Nigerians, leaders of thought, our religious leaders, our traditional leaders, our community leaders, our political leaders, and in particular, Governor Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP and, the leaders of every political party in Nigeria, and, indeed, every single person who loves this country, as I do, and who wishes nothing but the best for the country, as I do, to join me in this campaign to enshrine probity, accountability and the basic principles of justice, morality and uprightness in our country and in our government. This is a task for each and every one of us.

However, attempts made by Vanguard to get the reaction of the Presidency to Atiku’s call were mum as the calls put across to their GSM lines didn’t go through.

Even when the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, who visited the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, was approached to comment, he turned down all treatise from State House correspondents to speak on the matter.
