Nigerian USA-based legal luminary, Chris Okobah, has tasked Nigerians to tighten the knots of the Nation’s electoral system to stop  the judiciary from deciding the fate of election results.

Okobah said the call became necessary because the court had become a place where Political class  always run to after manipulating the electoral system to have their way.

Speaking with journalists in Asaba, Okobah who arrived Nigeria from USA recently, said the court is becoming a guff, bleeding ground for electoral frauds which is causing more harm than good to the country democracy, and as such, it is no longer the last hope of the common man.

He said the uncertainty and confusion in the air following the recent court Judgements show that the court is now “the last hope of the corrupt Politicians because they get what they want, after all”.

“It is nonsense when we say that the court is the last hope of the common man. The court is now the last hope of corrupt Politicians because they use it to get what they want. So, why must we live our electoral system to court to decide, it only happens though, because of the manipulations in the system”.

One of the court Judgements which is creating additional State in the country to “making Abuja now a State is an embarrassing comical situation, and is more or less telling Nigerians we are stupid”.

“How can you tell us Nigeria is 37 States when it was never written that Nigeria comprises of 36 States and a Federal Capital Territory. Abuja is different status, but not a State status; even it baffled me the way some lawyers are still defending what is not right.

On the Palliative offered by the presidency to cushion the effects of subsidy removal, he said it is just like  Greek gifts, or rather drinking Panadol for cancer which certainly will not stand the text of time.

He said sharing of eight thousand naira or N10000 will not solve any problem, and advised that the presidency should jettison sharing of money to Nigerians he described as a nebulous notions that will, on the long run, further enrich the political leaders.

He urged President Bola Tinubu to put facilities in place to create jobs, and other means to make people engaged in a meaningful livelihoods.

The estate valuer cum Politician, opened up on the unfolding insecurity situation in our land, and said Nigeria is now a hotbed where criminals strive, to carry out their crimes unchallenged.

According to him, insecurity has snowball into unpalatable and undesirable situation whereby lives and property no longer save, particularly for average person who has no means of defending himself.
