The duo has recently become a hot topic of discussion following their intimate moments captured after the reality show’s conclusion a week ago.

In a recent interview on HotFM, Pere and Mercy openly confirmed their relationship, with Mercy admitting to having a crush on Pere at the start of the show. Pere, in the same interview, emphasized that he and Mercy are in a serious relationship, not just a casual situationship.

This revelation sparked controversy on social media, with many questioning Mercy’s choice to date her best friend Maria Chike’s ex-boyfriend, Pere. James Brown took to his Twitter page to voice his concerns, tweeting, “Phyna couldn’t do romance with Groovy because she was beauty’s friend but now Mercy can romance with Pere even as Maria’s friend?? Double standards choke #bbnaija.”

That followed a public altercation between actor Zubby Michael and his junior colleague, 042 Prince on a movie set.

Addressing the incident on her Instagram page, Destiny Etiko emphasized the importance of respecting senior colleagues in the industry, stating that success in Nollywood is often hindered for those who do not acknowledge the authority of their senior counterparts.
