NNPCL Gets New Chief Communications Officer

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced the appointment of Mr Femi Soneye, publisher of Per Second News, PSN as its Chief Corporate Communications Officer.

The announcement was made Wednesday night on its X (formerly Twitter) handle.

GWG.ng reports that the announcement of the media-savvy journalist has elicited strong approval from the media with expectations that he would bring his rich comprehension of the energy industry and consummate political networks to boost the representation of the NNPCL in the public space.

Announcing the new appointment, the NNPCL said:

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Olufemi Oladapo Soneye as our Chief Corporate Communications Officer.

“Mr Soneye, a seasoned journalist with full-time and freelance experiences at some of the world’s most respected publications in Nigeria, Australia and the United States of America, will lead our corporate communications team.

“And drive our brand penetration, strategic communications initiatives and stakeholder management,” the company stated, explaining further that the new CCCO is a member of reputable bodies, including the Nigerian Union of Journalists, National Association of Black Journalists, Society of Professional Journalists, and the Guild of Corporate Online Media Publishers.

“Soneye is the former President of the Nigerian Media Practitioners, Washington, D.C. We look forward to his valuable contributions to our company,” the oil firm stated.

The new appointee replaces Garba-Deen Muhammad, who was among the senior officials of the company asked to proceed on retirement recently.
