Breaking: Hamas Releases Two American Hostages

Hamas is set to release two American hostages and they are now in transit out of the Gaza Strip, multiple sources including CNN have reported.

GWG.ng reports that the US State Department which has been working round clock behind the scenes pulling on friendly governments including Qatar and Egypt is yet to confirm the development. However, news sources in Israel have reported the release of a woman and her daughter. The woman is being released on compassionate ground based on her failing health GWG.ng reports.

The US state department is expected to hold a press conference where the release is expected to be confirmed.

GWG.ng reports that the two American citizens have been handed over to the Red Cross and are on their way out of the Gaza Strip and are expected to leave through the Rafah Crossing in Southern Gaza.

With the release of the two hostages, US sources say that the number of American citizens left behind in Hamas custody as hostages are now “less down a handful.”

Meanwhile, Israel’s military says more than 20 children under 18 are among 200 hostages being held in Gaza after the Hamas attacks on 7 October

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces said between 10 and 20 are over 60, and the majority of those being held are alive
