Soludo’s Aide Accused Of Assaulting Driver Who Overtook Him Begs (Video)

A top aide of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Ossy Onuko who was alleged to have instructed thugs to beat up a commercial driver who overtook him on the road has tendered an apology.

The apology came in the face of strong condemnation from the public and the threat of legal action by GUO Motors, the transport company whose driver was mercilessly beaten up by the alleged agents of Soludo’s aide, Ossy Onuko who is also Director/Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority,”

In a press statement obtained by GWG.ng, Ossy SOnuko said:

“I have received numerous calls and messages from concerned friends, colleagues, and ndi Anambra regarding a viral video clip showing an altercation between a GUO driver and myself, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority,” he said.

“I take full responsibility for everything, and I sincerely apologize to the young man, his company GUO, and all my friends and well-wishers who have been embarrassed by my involvement in such an incident.”

GUO in its own narration of the incident alleged that its driver was attacked with a machete by political thugs under Ossy Onuko’s orders.

GUO further claimed that its passengers were traumatized from witnessing the defenseless driver’s brutal beating.

“We assure all concerned citizens that we will seek legal redress to prevent the reoccurrence of such inhumane treatment of citizens,” GUO stated.

“We have also read the statement from the press secretary of the Anambra State Government. We are surprised that they are justifying the atrocious act committed against our driver today.

“They defend this barbaric action by arguing that our driver’s recklessness led to him being attacked with a machete and violently assaulted.

“The false narrative they have presented without consulting our driver or the passengers in the vehicle who witnessed the entire incident speaks volumes.

“We call upon the Executive Governor of Anambra State to denounce the behavior of his officials and establish a panel of inquiry into this incident in order to curb the excesses of his officials and prevent a similar incident that could potentially result in loss of lives and chaos in the State.”
