Governor Charles Soludo is in a panic over his unsteady position ahead of the 2025 governorship election and hence the resort to throwing aspersions on Labour Party and some of its leading lights in Anambra State, the Forum of Labour Party 2023 House of Assembly Candidates has said.

Replying to the recent remarks of Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APGA, to the effect that Labour Party faithful in Anambra State are disgruntled, the group said that it was reflective of the sense of panic that had come upon the governor.

The forum which replied through Chibuzo Udkigbo, director of communications said that it was a known fact that Opara was a messenger of Soludo and his attack on Labour Party was reflective of the sense of unease in the camp of Governor Soludo

In a statement made available to GWG.ng, the Forum said:

“We were tempted to “take the message and leave the messenger,” unfortunately, there is no message to take in Mazi Opara’s Press Release, which is laced with exhibition and display of his benefactor, Prof Soludo’s hatred for Labour Party in Anambra State, as was evident in his open letter against the leader and Presidential Candidate of our party before the 2023 General Elections.

“It is obvious that Prof. Soludo has entered panic attack, for he is aware that the 2025 Governorship election is around the corner and Labour Party is set to rescue Ndi-Anambra from Governor Soludo’s impoverishment policies.

“We send the errand boy of the APGA-led Government on an errand to his benefactor, the Governor of Anambra, to leave Labour Party alone ad focus on tackling the insecurity, poor medical and school facilities in Anambra, and desist from destroying the goods of petty traders in Awak and Ekwulobia and fighting the Traditional institution, Religious intuitions and opposition parties.”

Besides the assertions on Soludo, the forum articulated the visibility and viability of Labour Party representatives from the State in the National Assembly noting among others, the mind-blowing empowerment programme recently conducted by Senator Tony Nwoye among his constituents.

He also observed contributions to debate on the floor by Senator Victor Umeh and the Labour members in the House of Representatives from Anambra State.
