Otedola Gifts N1m Each To All 750 Students As He Becomes University Chancellor

In a remarkable gesture of goodwill, billionaire businessman and philanthropist Femi Otedola was inaugurated as the Chancellor of Augustine University, Ilara, and marked his arrival with a N750m gift to be shared among all 750 students of the university.

The donation was one of the highlights of his inauguration as chancellor of the prestigious Catholic-owned institution in Lagos State.

During the inauguration ceremony held on Thursday, Otedola announced a generous donation of N750 million to the students of the university.

Otedola, the former chairman of Forte Oil PLC and the current executive chairman of Geregu Power PLC, expressed his commitment to transforming the institutions he is associated with. He emphasized his deep honor at being appointed as the Chancellor of Augustine University, a reputable institution approved by the Federal Government in 2015, offering a wide array of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

During his address, Otedola shared his vision for supporting the students’ educational journey. He gifted N1 million to each of the 750 students, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on their parents in these challenging times. Additionally, Otedola encouraged the students to strive for excellence and hard work, underlining the importance of dedication and perseverance in their academic pursuits at Augustine University.
