Celebrations As Nigerian Chef Takes Back World Record for Marathon Cooking (Video)
Chef Temitope Adebayo, popularly known Chef Tope Maggie has reportedly set a new Guinness World Record, GWR for marathon cooking, surpassing the previous record held by Irish chef Alan Fisher.
In a celebratory TikTok video titled ‘The record is broken, congratulations to Nigeria, Oyo State, Chef Tope Maggie,’ was seen surrounded by cheering supporters.
Tope’s accomplishment is a significant triumph for Nigeria, reclaiming the title for the longest continuous cooking from Alan Fisher, who recently surpassed chef Hilda Bassey’s 93-hour record. Tope, a graduate in Hotel Management from the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State, adopted the name ‘Maggie’ from his mother, who imparted cooking skills to him.
Currently managing a chain of restaurants in Ogbomoso, Tope Maggie’s feat awaits official confirmation from the Guinness World Record, highlighting a remarkable achievement in the culinary world.
GWG.ng reports that the feat is bound to be welcomed by many Nigerians who were brokenhearted after Alan Fisher took the world record that had only few months ago been recorded in favour of Chef Hilda Baci away from the country.
