Solomon Idowu, a Nigerian residing in Chicago, who faced a confrontation with Afrobeats singer Seun Kuti at Murtala Muhammed International Airport over alleged death threats, has issued a public apology.

Seun Kuti had intervened, preventing Solomon from traveling, citing the threats against him and his family.

Initially defiant, Solomon Idowu eventually yielded to pressure and extended an apology to Seun Kuti in a recorded video. Taking responsibility for his actions, he stated that he should be held accountable if any harm befalls Seun Kuti in Chicago. He identified the threats as a result of miscommunications between them.

In the video, Solomon asserted, “If anything happens to Seun, my name is Solomon Idowu; I am a citizen of the United States, and I live in Chicago. If anything happens to Seun in Chicago, I’ll be responsible. This is because of some miscommunications between us.”

Despite offering a hand of friendship in his apology, Seun Kuti promptly rejected the gesture. The incident underscores the serious consequences of online threats and the importance of accountability in such situations.
