Alaafin’s Former Queen Damns Critics Of Her Relationship With Portable
By Gideon Ayeni
Queen Dami, the former wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo State, has defiantly addressed critics and haters regarding her newfound relationship with singer Portable. The couple, not shy about declaring their love for each other, has faced scrutiny since their romance came to light.
Portable, a father of five, confirmed the affair after controversial blogger Gist Lover alleged the relationship by sharing screenshots of their comments. The singer revealed that Queen Dami was initially just a fan before the passing of her husband, the King, but that their romance evolved since then.
Despite being one of the wives of a Yoruba monarch, Queen Dami and Portable’s relationship has been met with criticism. In a recent Instagram post, she shared a video of a Facetime call with Portable, who is currently in London for a show, expressing how much she missed him and tagging him as her husband.

The video stirred controversy, leading to heavy criticism. In response, Queen Dami took to her Instagram, advising critics to check their transaction history before offering guidance. Her statement was clear: “Before u advise me, check ur transaction history. If my name no Dey there, no try am.”
This bold response from Queen Dami reflects her determination to embrace her choices and shrug off the judgments over her publicized relationship with Portable.
Months back, GWG.ng had reported how Portable had shown how much he loves Queen Dami by defending her against actor, Lege Miami, who exposed the former Queen’s desperation for love.
Lege Miami stated that he was still looking for a suitor for Dami when he learned of her romance with Portable and when he confronted her, she denied it at first. With evidence, Portable slammed Lege, as he exposed the actor for begging for money from his wife.
Recall that Queen Dami was married to the late monarch but the marriage crashed after she allegedly broke a palace rule. According to reports, the Queen was locked up in a cell after allegedly going against a palace rule, an act that prompted her to leave her marriage and run away from the palace.
She later blamed the whole act on frustration and wrong advice from friends. Unfortunately, her relationship with the monarch was never repaired before his demise last year.
