There was outrage in the camp of associates of former President Muhammadu Buhari after Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, a key supporter of President Bola Tinubu accused the former president of taking the country backward and doing damage to the heritage handed him by President Goodluck Jonathan.

In a wide-ranging interview, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim who represents Ondo South on the platform of the APC chastised the Buhari administration of doing nothing in terms of legacy saying that the administration plunged the country into debt.

He spoke on Channel Television’s Politics Today anchored by Seun Okinbaloye.

Senator Jimoh Ibrahim in dismissing the Buhari administration, said:

“Jonathan left $ 15 billion in the current account and two after Buhari came in it was negative $17 billion. Every of the variables went negative in the Buhari administration. All these rails, airports were built by the Jonathan administration,” Senator Jimoh Ibrahim said in dismissal of the Buhari administration which he said was unable to complete a single project of N1 billion from conception.

Reacting to the interview, Bashir Ahmad who served in the media team of the Buhari administration tweeted his shock saying:

I watched Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, an APC member, on Channels TV, blending apparent facts in a manner that raises questions about the intentions behind his discourse. What are some of our party members expecting to achieve by trying hard to discredit all the good of the past administration? This approach is not conducive to the overall health of our party.

His tweet on the attack on the Buhari administration by Senator Jimoh Ibrahim was followed by diverse comments.
