Harry Maguire Wins His First-Ever Premier League Player Of The Month Award

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been named Premier League Player of the Month for November. 

This is the first time that the 30-year-old has picked up the prestigious prize in his senior professional career. Maguire, who was not a major part of Erik ten Hag’s team at the start of the season has recently earned a spot back into the starting lineup.

GWG.ng reports that he was on the verge of departing Old Trafford in the summer as West Ham United were willing to pay United’s asking price, but the Englishman chose to remain at the club stating that he was ready to fight for his place.

He was also relieved of his captaincy role which was handed to Portugal international Bruno Fernandes. However, since his return to the first team, Maguire has been in rejuvenated form and has been a perfect replacement for the injured Lisandro Martinez. 

His impressive performance in recent weeks has earned him the Premier League Player of the Month award for November. He helped United to three wins in four league games, keeping three clean sheets in the process. Maguire beat the likes of Raheem Sterling, Jeremy Doku, Anthony Gordon and James Tavernier to the award of player of the Month.
