Wike Fubara mistake

President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, the former governor of Rivers State, Sir Peter Odili, and some other stakeholders from the state at the Presidential Villa, Abuja but with the presence of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike uncertain.

GWG.ng reports that the meeting is coming in the heels of the crisis that has engulfed the state following the reported disagreements between Wike and Fubara that led to defection of the house of assembly members from the PDP to the APC.

The meeting is also coming in the heels of the resignations of pro-Wike allies from the Fubara cabinet.

Though Wike was not at the meeting, it was, however, learnt that he was earlier seen at the State House before the arrival of Governor Fubara and others entered the session with President Tinubu.

Although the agenda of the meeting between the President and the protagonists in the Rivers State crisis was not made public at the time of filing this report, it may not be unconnected to the recent developments in the state in which 27 out of 32 members of the State House of Assembly, who are loyalists of the FCT Minister, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, and the Rivers State deputy governor are also in the meeting.
