Soldier Returns To Base, Unable To Afford Transport To Visit Family (Video)

A heart wrenching viral video has surfaced on the internet where a Nigerian Soldier was captured lamenting his inability to go to his family on being given holiday from engagements in the Northeast.

According to him his transport to and fro his family’s location is N70,000 but his monthly salary is N50,000 and becuase of that he chose to return to the bush where he had been engaged in military operations.

“As I commot for bush, when I reach park, them tell me say from here to my town na N35,000. Na im  I come calculate am, N35,000 going and coming back na  70,000. 

“And na N50,000 na im them pay me for my salary this month. I no get option again o, I de go back to bush”.

Touched by the narration of the soldier’s ordeal, some Netizens reacted through their Instagram accounts.

Just_lil boy said, “Giving peanuts as salary to someone who has a gun that can actually make a lot of money illegally on his own but decided to protect the interest of the country, tell me why crime rate won’t rise to 100% everyday”.

Bugobestfortune said, “And the next thing will be transfer of aggression on innocent citizens. Please our government, these soldiers deserve a good life too please.

Breakthrough_j._xx commented, “What is good delayed increment to a dead soldier? Pay them their salary. If they are to die, let them die rich and content. And a secured future for their families, I rest my case”.

The Soldier’s sad experience is a reflection of the poor conditions Nigerian Soldiers go through to defend the nation against terrorism and every other sort of crimes.
