OAU: Fajuyi Hall Beat Awolowo In Friendly Match

The training pitch at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife buzzed with excitement on Saturday, February 3, 2024 as Fajuyi Hall triumphed over Awolowo Hall 3-1 in a friendly football match organized by the Torch Bearer Club, OAU chapter.

GWG.ng reports that the match kicked off at precisely 10:45 am and the game was watched by a crowd of fans, students, and football enthusiasts.

At the end of the first half of the game, Fajuyi Hall was already two goals ahead with the Awolowo Hall team unable to cross the defence of the Fajuyi team.

The second half saw Awolowo Hall coming in stronger but their effort in putting one goal behind the Fajuyi Hall was easily neutralized as Fajuyi Hall also put oe goal behind the Awolowo goal putting the final result at 3-1.

Abdulhameed Mutohhir, the director of the Torch Bearer Club, commended both teams for their performance and encouraged them to uphold the spirit of unity.

The football match between in the university came after the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife, Osun State, Prof John Okeniyi, indicted his predecessor, Dr Olumuyiwa Owojuyigbe, for not following due process in the recruitment waiver approved for the hospital.

At an online press conference on Friday, Okeniyi said the waiver to recruit a total of 450 fresh staff into clinical and non-clinical positions was obtained from the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF). However, the previous administration recruited more than 2,000 persons.
