AFCON: Ivory Coast’s Haller Vows Revenge Against Nigeria On Sunday
Ivory Coast forward Sebastian Haller has vowed to revenge their loss to Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) group stage as the two countries meet on Sunday in the final match of the competitio.
Recall that William Troost-Ekong’s second-half penalty gave Nigeria a 1-0 win over Ivory Coast in the group-stage match.
Ahead of the AFCON final match on Sunday, Haller declared that the Elephants would exact revenge and win the title.
He made this known in a chat with Beln Sports. He stated, “We are playing the AFCON final against Nigeria. It is a great nation. It is heavy. They beat us in the group stage.
“But we are already motivated to go and lift the trophy on Sunday in this stadium in front of the Ivorian people. We have revenge to take on Nigeria.”
