Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has launched a scathing critique against former President Muhammadu Buhari, attributing Nigeria’s current economic woes to his administration’s policies.

Expressing his frustrations, Igboho vehemently denounced Buhari’s governance, suggesting that the economic downturn inherited by President Bola Tinubu was a testament to the failures of Buhari’s tenure.

Delivering his impassioned speech in Yoruba, Igboho not only criticized but also rallied for unity and liberation among the Yoruba people, particularly against what he perceives as the adverse influence of Fulani herders in the Southwest region.

Beyond economic grievances, Igboho’s discourse touched on broader issues of national unity, agricultural productivity, and regional autonomy. Drawing a comparison with the Igbo, he commended their self-reliance and successful expulsion of Fulani herders, which empowered them to assert greater control over their lands and resources.

For Igboho, the Igbo model serves as a blueprint for the Yorubas to overcome their current challenges and assert their sovereignty.

Igboho’s outcry unfolds against the backdrop of Nigeria’s intricate economic landscape, characterized by numerous challenges identified in various studies and reports. These encompass insufficient investment in human capital development, inadequate infrastructure, trade barriers, and limited foreign exchange capacity.

Moreover, structural issues such as insecurity, poverty, food inflation, and unemployment further compound the nation’s economic woes, underscoring the multifaceted nature of the challenges facing Nigeria.
