MTN Nigeria Apologizes as Network Failure Cripples Businesses

MTN users across Nigeria have been grappling with a significant network outage since Wednesday afternoon, rendering them unable to make or receive calls, and disrupting data services. The widespread issue has propelled MTN to become one of the top trending topics on Twitter as frustrated users take to social media to voice their grievances.

In response to the outcry, MTN Nigeria has issued an official apology to its network users via its social media channels. The telecommunications giant attributed the service disruption to multiple fibre cuts, impacting both voice and data services.

In a message addressed to its customers, MTN expressed regret over the inconvenience on its network and assured users that their engineering team is diligently working to resolve the issue. They also noted that services are gradually being restored in some areas.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and ask for your patience & understanding as the team works to restore full service as soon as possible,” MTN stated in their communication to users.
