In response to the escalating insecurity plaguing Katsina State, the Katsina State Police Command has taken a proactive step by announcing a substantial reward of N50 million for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of two notorious bandit kingpins.

These individuals, identified as Modi Modi and Jan Kare, are believed to be the masterminds behind a series of violent attacks that have rocked the Kankara and Safana local government areas in recent times.

The announcement, made by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for decisive action. With innocent lives at risk and communities living in fear, the state police are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to bring the perpetrators of these heinous crimes to justice.

Aliyu emphasized the importance of maintaining confidentiality for individuals who come forward with credible information. Assurances were given that the identity of informants would be protected, thereby encouraging members of the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies without fear of reprisals.

“The Katsina State Police Command wishes to announce a substantial reward of N50,000,000:00 to any individual who provides valuable information that will lead to the arrest of two bandits’ kingpins popularly known as Modi Modi and Jan Kare,” stated Aliyu in a press release. “This reward serves as a testament to our dedication to ensuring justice prevails, as the issue of security is a collective responsibility.”

The initiative aims to bolster security operations in the state and combat the activities of criminal elements that threaten the peace and stability of the region. By incentivizing citizens to come forward with vital information, the police are tapping into the power of community involvement in crime prevention and law enforcement.

Furthermore, the PPRO encouraged residents of the state to play an active role in supporting security agencies by providing any information that could assist in apprehending the suspects. He urged individuals to utilize designated hotline numbers or reach out to the command headquarters or nearest security agency with relevant details.

As Katsina State grapples with the scourge of banditry and insecurity, the announcement of the reward reflects a concerted effort by law enforcement authorities to address the root causes of the problem and restore peace and tranquility to affected communities. It is a reminder that security is everyone’s responsibility, and collective action is essential in overcoming the challenges posed by criminal elements.
