How Agbor Community President, Onyechie Died After Clash With Motorcyclists

The President-General of Agbor Community Union, Chief Lawrence Egun Onyechie has died following an altercation with motorcyclists in Asaba.

A statement by the family said the community leader died moments after he was involved in auto accident with a motorcycle rider at Okpanam axis of  Agbor-Onitsha Expressway, near Asaba.

The statement said the late community leader ran away from the scene of the accident on realizing that  Hausa/kinsmen of the motorcyclist were about to attack him following the accident even while he was making efforts to revive the motorcyclist.

As he fled from the attacking motorcyclists who were of Northern origin, his vehicle broke down just before his house forcing him to abandon it.

He was said to have, however, invited the police to his house but collapsed while giving his statement to the policemen and was confirmed dead at Asaba Specialist Hospital.

GWG.ng reports that Chief Larry Onyechie, retired as  Director, Fishery,  Delta State Ministry of Agriculture.

He was a consultant on Multi-Puporse Co-operative Society issues.

Reports indicate that SUV Chief Onyechie abandoned very close to his house was vandalized by the irate motorcyclists. 

Meanwhile, reliable sources confirmed  that the  motorcyclist who was feared to have died  is recuperating in the hospital.
