US on kidnappings

The United States, along with some other foreign countries, is to help Nigeria deal with the increasing problem of kidnappings, especially in the northern parts of Nigeria.

This global teamwork was announced by the Nigerian government, showing everyone’s effort to fight kidnappings and other big crimes happening in the country.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, shared this news with reporters at the State House in Abuja. This came after a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Lately, there have been many kidnappings happening, and it’s been worrying. One of the big ones was when 287 kids were taken from a school in Kuriga, in Kaduna state. Also, in Buda, Kajuru Local Government Area, over 60 people were taken by suspected bad guys. And there was another time when 16 kids from a Qur’anic school were taken in Sokoto and some women from a camp in Borno.

To deal with these bad situations, President Tinubu told the security agencies to make sure all those kidnapped came back safe.

Also, the government decided not to give money to the kidnappers. President Tinubu said no ransom should be paid to them so they won’t keep doing it. The idea is to stop them from wanting to kidnap people by not giving them money.

Apart from the United States, other countries are also offering help to Nigeria. The Nigerian government is looking at these offers and will tell everyone their decision soon. Meanwhile, the security people are working hard to rescue the kidnapped folks, and the government believes they’ll come back safely.
