Ummukulsum Buhari Love Saga: Court Sentences Chinese Lover To Death

A Kano State High Court has sentenced a Chinese national, Frank Geng-Quangrong to death by hanging for killing his girlfriend, Ummukulsum Buhari.

Quangrong stabbed Ummukhulsum to death over an alleged claim that she was no longer interested in the relationship.

Until her death, the ex-girlfriend, Ummukulsum Buhari was a resident of Janbulo area of Kano metropolis.

It was reported that in the evening of September 16, 2022, Mr Geng came to the house of Ummukhulsum and knocked at the door frantically around 8pm, and later forced himself into the house around 9pm.

Once inside the house, the Chinese national pushed his way through into the room of Ummukulsum Buhari and stabbed her to death.

“When we got tired of his knocking, I went out to tell him to keep off our house, but he pushed and went straight into her room and killed her,” the mother of Ummukhulsum had said.

“We then began shouting and neighbours came to our rescue and apprehended him.”

The Kano State government arraigned the Chinese man in court with a charge of murder.

He had claimed that the stabbing of Ummukhulsum was in self-defence.

On Tuesday, March 26, the court ruled that Quangrong was guilty of murder.

He was sentenced to die by hanging.
