NPFL Announces New Date For Matchday 28 Fixtures
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) management has announced a change in the date for the upcoming matchday 28 fixtures. This alteration is due to logistical challenges, as conveyed in a memo sent to clubs nationwide.
Originally slated for Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, the NPFL matchday 28 fixtures have now been rescheduled. According to the memo issued March 27th, the new date for these matches is Wednesday, April 3rd. All league games for this matchday will occur simultaneously on the aforementioned date.
In the memo, NPFL’s Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, emphasized the importance of clubs ensuring proper logistics to facilitate a smooth execution of matchday 28.
It’s worth noting that there will be no NPFL games during the upcoming weekend (March 30th and 31st), as these days are reserved for the state Federation Cup finals.
Currently, Enugu Rangers lead the league table with 48 points from 27 games, just one point ahead of second-placed Lobi Stars.
Notably, Remo Stars, currently in third place, have the opportunity to surpass Rangers, boasting 45 points from 26 games with one game in hand.
At the bottom of the table, Gombe United and Heartland occupy the last spots. Gombe United has accumulated 21 points from 27 games, while Heartland has 23 points from 27 games.
