Borno Police Detain 8 In Connection With The Murder Of UNIMAID Lecturer

Eight individuals have been detained, according to the Borno State Police Command, in relation to the death of Dr. Abdulkadir Kamal, a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).

GWG.ng reports that Dr. Kamal, a lecturer of the Department of Physical and Health Education, was gruesomely murdered by unknown person(s) in his office at the University on Sunday.

The arrest was made public to media on Monday in Maiduguri by ASP Daso Kenneth, the spokesman for the Borno State Police Command.

He said that as soon as their troops heard of the incident, they moved quickly to apprehend eight people who may have been involved in the murder.

He said,” The command has received a distress call on the murder of Dr. Kamal, it was confirmed that he was murdered in his office and his car got stolen by the killers.

“Eight people were so far arrested and they are undergoing investigation to unravel those behind the act.”

The PPRO also called for calm, adding that the Police Command was on top of the situation.
