Cubana Chief Priest Under Fire For Comparing Verydarkman To Christ
Cubana Chief Priest, a well-known figure in the Nigerian entertainment scene, has come under fire for drawing a comparison between controversial influencer Verydarkman and Jesus Christ.
The backlash stemmed from a post on his Instagram page where he celebrated Verydarkman’s release from police detention on Easter Sunday. In the post, Cubana Chief Priest shared a photo of Verydarkman and likened his return to that of Christ, stating, “Ratel!! Nothing to lose. Just like Christ he came out on Easter Sunday. Let’s go!!”
The comparison sparked outrage among social media users, with many criticizing Cubana Chief Priest for equating a controversial figure with a religious icon. Some argued that the comparison was inappropriate and disrespectful to Christian beliefs.
Verydarkman, whose real name is not disclosed, had been arrested on the 22nd of March, 2024, and was released on Easter day. Cubana Chief Priest had previously expressed solidarity with Verydarkman, but his comparison to Christ has stirred controversy and condemnation from many quarters.
