Two Dangerous Things Peter Obi Brought Into Nigerian Politics – Bayo Onanuga (Video)

Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, has leveled allegations against Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, accusing him of introducing “two dangerous things” into Nigerian politics during the last elections.

Onanuga asserted that Obi’s campaign tactics had a divisive impact on the political landscape, specifically citing his role in igniting religious and ethnic tensions.

During an appearance on ‘Mic On’ with Seun Okinbaloye, the presidential aide emphasized that Tinubu’s administration remains steadfast in its focus on governance and is not concerned with Obi and his followers, known as Obidients.

Addressing the allegations, Onanuga stated, “For the first time in a very long while in our country, we had a candidate who was inflaming ethnic passion, and that was the way the election went at that time. He was inflaming ethnic and religious passions, bringing two dangerous things to our politics: ethnicity and religion.”

While acknowledging the busy agenda of Tinubu’s administration, Onanuga affirmed their commitment to governance and emphasized the need to avoid distractions from the core objectives of the government.

GWG.ng reports that the assertions of Bayo Onanuga against Peter Obi are also the same allegations that have been made against the presidential aide who warned against the involvement of non-Yoruba in the politics of Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial capital.
