Police debunked claims of escorting Bobrisky

The Lagos police command spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, has debunked claims that policemen escorted Nigerian cross dresser, Bobrisky to Ikeja City mall on Monday.

A video widely circulating online captured Bobrisky escorted by a crowd and some uniformed policemen.

However, Hundeyin took to his X handle on Tuesday to clarify that the police men in the video did not escort Bobrisky but on the other hand, maintained that the officers were there to ensure peace and order amidst the crowd.

“The policemen in that video did not come with anybody, neither did they leave with anybody. They are posted there to maintain peace, order and security of the ICM. And that was exactly what they were doing as the situation was turning rowdy.

“We would not wait for something untoward to happen and have Nigerians say, ‘But the police were there and did nothing. Why then were they there?” Hundeyin stated.
