World Waits On Israel After Intercepting 99% Of More Than 300 Drones, Missiles From Iran

Israel and its allies led by the United States completely intercepted nearly all of the more than 300 drones and missiles launched by Iran. The IDF said that 99% of the more than missiles and drones were neutralized during five hours of attack launched by Iran.

GWG.ng reports that it was the first time since the emergence of the Islamic Republic more than 45 years ago that Iran launched a direct attack on Israel from its territory. Rather the Islamic Republic had engaged Israel through proxies.

Israeli authorities say that a small number of the missiles on its territory, however, passed through including a hit at an IDF base in southern Israel. One person was reportedly injured in that attack.

About 45 persons were also injured across Israel while trying to run into bomb shelters.

Sirens sounded across Israel and loud explosions were heard over Jerusalem, with air defence systems shooting down objects over the city.

President Biden had prior to the attack told Israel that American support for its ally is “ironclad”, adding that the US helped “take down nearly all of the incoming drones and missiles”

UK Defence Minister Grant Shapps condemned the “senseless attack” and said additional RAF jets have been deployed to the region

Iran earlier warned that Israel would be “punished” for a strike on its consulate in Syria on 1 April, which Israel has not officially acknowledged.

Meanwhile, the world is waiting for a response from Israel with majority of world leaders including President Biden to overlook the attack from Iran and forgo a response after the successful neutralisation of the attacks.
