In response to the recent controversy surrounding Pastor Paul Enenche’s confrontation with a testifier during a church service, Dunamis International Gospel Centre has released an official statement addressing the incident.

The memo, obtained by GWG.ng from a source close to the testifier but pleaded for anonymity, sheds light on the events that transpired on April 14, 2024, at the Glory Dome, the church’s global headquarters.

According to the statement, the testifier, Ms. Anyim Veronica Nnenna, came forward to testify about her graduation from university, claiming to be the first in her family to achieve this milestone. However, the testimony raised concerns among church leaders due to perceived discrepancies in her spoken English proficiency and the ambiguity surrounding her academic degree.

The memo outlines three key factors that prompted Pastor Paul Enenche to interrupt the testimony: the testifier’s apparent struggle with basic spoken English, her claim of studying Law for ten years without specifying her degree, and her assertion of obtaining a BSc in Law, a degree unfamiliar to Nigerian academic standards.

While the church maintains its commitment to excellence and truthfulness, it emphasizes that the interruption of the testimony was not intended to embarrass or harm Ms. Anyim Veronica. Rather, it was motivated by a desire to uphold standards of integrity and accuracy within the church community.

“It must be pointed out clearly here that embarrassing the testifier publicly with the attendant media frenzy was never intended; whatever happened was under the spur of the moment.”- The memo read in part.

The statement further acknowledges Pastor Enenche’s outreach to Ms. Anyim Veronica and expresses regret for any inconvenience or hurt caused by the incident. The church reaffirms its support for her physical and spiritual well-being, its dedication to her growth and welfare.

“As a Commission, we regret every inconvenience, hurt and embarrassment this unfortunate scenario has caused to Ms Anyim Veronica Nnenna. We remain committed to her physical welfare as well as her spiritual growth”.

GWG.ng reports that, this official statement offers insights into the church’s perspective on the controversy, seeking to clarify its actions and intentions while extending support to the testifier at the center of the controversy. All efforts by GWG to reach out to Ms. Anyim Veronica proved abortive.
