Donald Trump Sleeps Off In Courtroom

Former President Donald Trump made a courtroom appearance on Monday, April , in the first of his three criminal trials, facing allegations related to hush money payments. However, reports surfaced suggesting that Trump appeared to doze off during the proceedings.

According to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, who provided live updates during the trial, Trump’s head was observed dropping and his jaw going slack multiple times, indicating possible sleep. Other journalists corroborated this observation.

Prior to the courtroom appearance, Trump displayed a spirited demeanor while speaking to reporters, denouncing the trial as an assault on the nation and reiterating claims of it being a witch hunt.

The case revolves around hush money payments allegedly made by Trump and his associates to adult film star Stormy Daniels to silence her about an alleged affair dating back to the 2000s. Trump faces 34 counts of falsifying business records, classified as a felony in New York. Additionally, details of another alleged affair with ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal are expected to be presented, along with the transcript of the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape.

Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney, is anticipated to testify in the trial. The jury selection process is underway and is expected to last several weeks, with thousands of Manhattan residents summoned for potential jury duty. The court aims to select 12 jurors and 6 alternates who can impartially adjudicate the case amidst heightened public scrutiny.”
