Bobrisky Quietly Moved From Ikoyi Prison – Report
The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) has transferred controversial figure Bobrisky from the Ikoyi Correctional Center to Kirikiri Prison.
The move comes in the wake of Bobrisky’s recent sentencing to a six-month prison term for the misuse of Naira, following his guilty plea in court.
Contrary to online rumors suggesting otherwise, Bobrisky is no longer housed at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility.
The sentencing, delivered by a judge on Friday, April 12, 2024, underlines the gravity of Bobrisky’s offense and aims to serve as a deterrent to others engaging in similar misconduct with the Nigerian currency.
According to LEADERSHIP NEWS, the high-profile crossdresser was discreetly relocated to Kirikiri Prison over the weekend and is presently detained there.
Explaining the rationale behind the transfer, a source revealed, “It is procedural that he is moved to Kirikiri since it is an expansive prison compared to what we have here.”
The source further emphasized that security considerations prompted the quiet relocation of Bobrisky to Kirikiri Prison, where he will serve his mandated term.
GWG.ng reports that besides the relocation of Bobrisky to Kirikiri, the government has sharpened its fight against naira abuse with the apparent decision to focus on other high-profile celebrities accused of abusing the national currency.
