Police Officer Stabs Man to Death at Lagos Shopping Mall, Investigation Underway

Tragedy struck at the Skymall shopping mall in Ajah, Lagos State, on Saturday, April 20, 2024, when a police officer, identified as Inspector Taofeek allegedly stabbed a man, Anosikwa Patrick, to death. The incident has sparked outrage and a swift response from the Lagos State Police Command.

According to a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Sunday, the police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Patrick’s death. The mall’s manager and chief security officer are currently in custody, assisting with the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has directed the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a speedy and diligent investigation, ensuring that justice is served. The police have assured the public that they will be kept informed of the investigation’s progress.
