BREAKING: UNN Lecturer Caught Pants Down With Married Female Student Suspended
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has suspended a lecturer, Mfonobong David Udoudom, caught on camera allegedly harassing a female student in his office. The incident, which has sparked outrage on social media, led to Udoudom’s arrest by the police on Monday and his subsequent detention.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the university’s Acting Public Relations Officer, Chief Okwun Omeaku, confirmed the suspension, stating that Udoudom has been suspended indefinitely pending the outcome of a disciplinary panel investigation.
The university emphasized its zero-tolerance policy for sexual misconduct, stating, “UNN is among the few universities in the country that has a Sexual Harassment Policy, which guides the relationship between our staff and students in particular and among our male and female staff.”
The university assured that it is committed to protecting its students from any form of abuse and exploitation, and that Udoudom will face punishment according to the university’s rules if found guilty by the disciplinary panel.
The university’s swift action has been commended by many, who see it as a step towards creating a safer and more respectful environment for students.
