A second commissioner in Rivers State Isaac Kamalu has formally resigned his appointment in the Governor Siminalayi Fubara has resigned his redeployment, GWG.ng reports.

GWG.ng reports that Kamalu who was the commissioner for finance resigned his appointment following the earlier resignation by his colleague, Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor who was until yesterday, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.

GWG.ng further reports that the two men were redeployed from their positions to other offices.

The Governor, had in a statement on Tuesday night announced the movement through the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo.

While the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state, Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor was moved to the Ministry of Special Duties (Governor’s Office) Kamalau was moved from the Finance portfolio to the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment.

The two men were asked to immediately hand over to their respective permanent secretaries.

GWG.ng reports the two men were part of the commissioners who resigned from their positions at the onset of the crisis between Governor Fubara and Mr Wike last December but were recalled to their offices following the intervention of President Bola Tinubu.

Danagogo said: “They are to hand over to their respective permanent secretaries immediately as this deployment takes immediate effect. All had over processes must be completed immediately.”

However, in his resignation letter sited by GWG.ng, Kamalu lamented that the present working environment in the state does not provide for peace and hence his decision to reject his redeployment and leave the cabinet.

“I find it difficult to accept the redeployment. I do not accept it. I reject it and convey to you my immediate resignation as Commissioner and Member of the Rivers State Executive Council with immediate effect from the date of this letter.”

GWG.ng reports that besides the two Rivers State commissioners who have now resigned, that the commissioner of works, Dr Alabo George-Kelly is also reported to have quietly resigned.
