Fears Over Ondo APC Crisis After Assassination Of Gov Aiyedatiwa’s Agent

Alaba Abe, popularly known as ‘Excel,’ an agent for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the April 20 All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Ward 10 of Akoko Southwest Local Council area of Ondo State, has been killed by unknown gunmen.

The incident occurred on Saturday night at around 9:00 p.m. in front of the deceased’s residence in Supare-Akoko within the council area.

Sources from the area, speaking anonymously, disclosed that the attackers ambushed the victim as he was entering his house and fatally shot him.

Kayode Fasua, Director of Information for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS), confirmed the killing and urged police authorities to safeguard members from potential threats by political opponents.

According to Fasua, the late Alaba Abe was a dedicated and resourceful coordinator who campaigned tirelessly for the success of the election and the emergence of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, disclosed that an investigation has commenced to apprehend those behind the murder.

“The command is aware of the incident at Supare, investigating is ongoing to unravel all that happened.”

GWG.ng reports that the assassination of the APC agent of Aiyedatiwa is bound to further escalate the crisis in the state chapter of the party.
