Obi mourns Kano mosque bomb attack

Former Anambra Governor, Peter Obi, has expressed his condolence over victims who lost their lives during a terrorist bomb attack on a Mosque in Kano.

Gwg.ng earlier reported that On May 15, 2024, at about 5:20 a.m., the police received a report of an explosion at a mosque in Gadan Village during the dawn prayer, leaving several people dead and injured.

Obi who expressed his condolence via a Statement on his Official X handle on Saturday said, “I am deeply saddened by the horrific and devastating terror attack that occurred on May 16, 2024, at Gezawa local government area of Kano State during the morning prayer session.

“A suspected terrorist had carried out a petrol bomb attack on the mosque killing at least 11 people.”

He added, “This incident serves as a stark reminder to the importance of promoting peace, tolerance, and understanding in our society.”

“We must come together to condemn such acts of violence and work towards creating a safer and more harmonious community for all.

“For the dead, may Almighty Allah their sins and grant them eternal rest.”

GWG.ng reports that the condolence from Obi over the Kano mosque bomb attack comes following his recent philanthropic forays in the north.
